about

Tuff Wax rounds up old family & new friends to send off the much praised 'Aberdeen Truth' 7" series with a bang, by issuing a tasty remix package for Bones & Money's ‘Black Diamond’.

Brooklyn-based Rewrote, of Boston's MOD crew kicks things off with a deep and epic club cut, garnishing the original track's lo-fi bass bombs with funky snare rolls and chipmunk rap chants.

Planet Mu favourite Chrissy Murderbot (owner of Chicago imprint Loose Squares) eschews all footwork expectations, swapping his signature juked-out flavours for crunchy breaks & floor shaking jungle rhythms instead.

New kid on the granite block Zubuntu bats for Aberdeen's latest wave of underground producers, stripping things down with a crisp, ghetto-friendly 808 beat, while label honcho Lockah (Jeffrees, Mishka, Donky Pitch) experiments with a percussive, dreamy pop rework.

At the opposite end of the globe, Adelaide's Strict Face utilises grimy, industrial clangs and nervous synth pads to great effect before Atlanta's Moist Ghost (Astro Nautico) pulls the curtain on the entire endeavour with a sprawling, apocalyptic closer - climaxing with a burst of rowdy bass stabs, tough hi-hats and swirling, throbbing chords.
